About Us

Devonian Stone of New York, Inc. is a full-service stone mining and fabrication company with over 25 years of experience in the stone business. We specialize in “high-end” cut-to-size Devonian Sandstone products such as pavers, countertops, slabs and tile. This sandstone material is perfect for walkways, steps, patios, pools, kitchens, fireplaces, walls and architectural applications. Our quarry is nestled in the hills of the southern tier of New York State near the northeast Pennsylvania border. This area is noted for its richness in quality Devonian Sandstone.

Stone Flaming MachineOur quarries contain the finest quality blue Devonian Sandstone, which is cut and shaped in various sizes and thicknesses in our 13,000 sq. ft. fabrication facility. Robert Bellospirito, President and Owner of Devonian Stone of New York, Inc. has developed innovative, Cutting devonian stone to sizeproprietary machinery and techniques that have revolutionized the exploration, mining and fabrication of Devonian Sandstone.

Robert Bellospirito, President and Owner of Devonian Stone of New York, Inc. Starting with school for engineering, Robert built his first company at 21, and has gone on to build 4 different companies in 4 different industries: Grounds maintenance & design, construction, mining and manufacturing. While building and running his 4 businesses, he enjoyed the freedom of being able to learn to fly, becoming an instrument rated aerobatic pilot with 1000 hours of flight time in over 20 different types of aircraft. He also became a certified advanced scuba diver, an amateur astronomer, an amateur photographer,Robert Bellospirito in his Quarry a certified explosives instructor, an avid intermediate skier, a solid intermediate tennis player and a world class pistol shooter-ranked # 6 in the USA for 2 years . He produced a patented invention for the manufacturing industry. In 2003, Robert was credited with the first modern scientific, environmentally friendly mineral exploration for Devonian Sandstone in New York State by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York Geological Survey. His process consists of using a combination of core drilling and computer analysis to project the quality and quantity of Devonian Stone on a particular piece of property without any surface disturbance to the environment. The quarry currently in use has been the main source of Devonian stone for Devonian Stone of New York, Inc. for the past 8 years. In addition, he built his own home on 100 acres of land in upstate New York to include an airport and tennis court. Robert continues to add many other professional and personal achievements to his list of accomplishments.
